“Billy,” said Dianne. “I have great news.”
“Just a sec,” said Billy.
Billy was finishing up the lyrics to his new song ‘Canada’.”
“Canada, I’m so proud of it,” sang Billy. “From the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific. From the Great Lakes to the Arctic Ocean. It is all ours to enjoy!”
“Oh Billy,” said Dianne. “I love your new song and I’m hoping you will have it ready by next weekend.”
“Yes,” said Billy. “I’ve just got some finishing touches to do on it. Why did you want to know?”
“There is going to be a Canada Day concert at Troll Town Park,” said Dianne. “And you are headlining it!”
“Awesome!” exclaimed Billy.
Canada Day came and Billy arrived at the Troll Town Park. The fans went crazy when they saw him come onstage to do a sound check. Everything looked good with the equipment so Billy went backstage. He saw The Jagged Trolls practicing in a corner.
Billy listened to them for a minute and was horrified to find out that they were singing the lyrics to his new song. Billy was enraged. The Jagged Trolls have always been his arch enemy but now they were taking things too far.
“Billy,” said Dianne. “What is wrong? You look upset.”
“I am!” yelled Billy. “Those Jagged Trolls stole my brand new song!”
“Oh,” said Dianne, sheepishly. “Billy don’t do anything until the Jagged Trolls do their first set. Promise me.”
Billy didn’t want to but he did promise Dianne only because he trusted Dianne one hundred percent. The Jagged Trolls came onstage and Billy grit his teeth so that he wouldn’t do anything to them. The very sight of them made him ill.
“This first song we are doing tonight is a tribute to our good friend Billy Troll,” said Mick Troll into the microphone. “Billy has just been inducted into the Troll Town Hall of Fame.”
“Aren’t you glad you didn’t confront Mick about this?” whispered Dianne to Billy, handing him his Hall of Fame trophy onstage.
“Definitely,” said Billy, giving Dianne a kiss on the cheek.
