Grampy’s Birthday

Grampy was outside looking at his little green car. It was a beautiful June day. The sun was shining brightly and it was warm outside. Grampy had just finished washing his little green car and was very happy about the way it looked.

Grampy hung up the garden hose in the garage when he noticed something that he didn’t like. He noticed his little green car had a bald spot on it’s rear back tire. Grampy got down on his hands and knees and took a good look.

“Oh my!” exclaimed Grampy, sadly. “My little green car needs new tires!”

Grampy was very upset. He knew it was going to cost a lot of money for four new tires. He knew he didn’t quite have enough money for the tires saved up in his bank account. He just didn’t know what to do.

Just then, Ricky, Grampy’s grandson, pulled up into his driveway. Grampy showed the tire to Ricky. Ricky could tell that Grampy was very upset but a light bulb went off in Ricky’s head. It was June and it was the month of Grampy’s birthday and Ricky had an excellent idea for Grampy’s birthday present.

“Come on, Grampy,” said Ricky. “We are going shopping!”

Ricky took Grampy to their favourite automotive store and bought Grampy four new tires for his little green car. Grampy was so excited he could hardly stand it. He rushed right home with Ricky and the two of them had the tires on the little green car in no time at all.

“Oh,” Grampy almost cried, looking at the tires. “Thank you Ricky. Thank you so much!”

“You are welcome,” said Ricky.

Grampy took two big steaks out of the freezer and him and Ricky had a nice barbecue together in front of the little green car to celebrate Grampy’s birthday.
