Travelin’ Rick’s Winter Vacation

Hi everyone! This is Travelin’ Rick. I want to tell you about my winter vacation adventure. Now, some people choose to go down south for their winter vacation. Not me! This winter I went to British Columbia to spend my winter vacation and I had the best time of my life.

If you are going to spend your winter vacation in British Columbia, I would definitely suggest that you enjoy snow and I would definitely suggest you enjoy cold weather. If you do enjoy those two things than British Columbia is the best place to vacation in the winter months.

I landed at the Kamloops, BC airport about noon one cold, but wonderful winter day. I got off the plane and looked around at my surroundings and was amazed and awed by what I saw. Beautiful mountains jutting up all around me, each covered in snow. Oh, what a beautiful sight!

Seeing those mountains, I wanted to do nothing else but play in the mountains. The very next morning, I awoke early in my motel room and I decided that I was going to rent a snowmobile. I wanted to spend the whole day in the mountains.

I dressed warmly. Being from Ontario, and experiencing the cold winters that Ontario gets, I was definitely prepared for a day in the mountains. I went and picked up the snowmobile that I rented and off to the mountains I went.

It was a beautiful winter day. The sun was shining and the air was so fresh and so crisp. There was nothing like fresh mountain air. It fills your lungs and your whole entire soul with freshness. I enjoyed that very much. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I thought I should bottle it and take some home to Ontario with me.

Being up in the mountains, I felt like I was on top of the world and as a matter of fact, I was. I was so high up that I could see for miles and miles all around me. I could see the North Thompson River and the South Thompson River. I could see the city of Kamloops. I could see other mountains beside me and all around me in every direction. It was an awesome sight to see.

I snowmobiled on the open range on top of the mountains for hours and hours. I saw so much wildlife too. Tons of bald eagles and red-tailed hawks. I saw a few golden eagles. I saw a coyote too. The coyote was so cool! He just stood in the middle of the range, looking right at me. I couldn’t believe it. I was only a few feet away from him.

I spent the rest of my winter vacation snowmobiling, snow-shoeing and skiing in the British Columbia mountains and I was very sad to see that my vacation was over so soon. I am definitely coming back to British Columbia the next time I take a winter vacation.

Moral of this Story:

  • The mountains can be fun for a winter vacation.
  • Example: Travelin’ Rick enjoyed a winter vacation in the mountains of British Columbia, Canada.
