Silly Groundhog Forgot to Brush his Teeth
Silly Groundhog was in his den. He was very excited because it was February 2, Groundhog Day.
“I really don’t want to see my shadow today,” said Silly Groundhog, brushing his sleek fur coat. “I know I would like spring to come early.”
Silly Groundhog heard people cheering for him. They were anxious to see if he was going to see his shadow or not. They, too, wanted an early spring.
“I can’t keep everyone waiting,” said Silly Groundhog. “It is time to come out of my den.”
Silly Groundhog poked his head out of his den and he was amazed because he didn’t see his shadow.
“An early spring! “the crowd shouted.
The crowd went wild and everyone took their cameras out and took pictures of Silly Groundhog.
“Stop!” shouted Bad Teeth Bradley, running up to the front of the crowd. “Silly Groundhog didn’t brush his teeth! Look at them! They are all yellow and gross.”
Everyone looked at the photos they had taken of Silly Groundhog and they found Bad Teeth Bradley was right. Silly Groundhog’s teeth were disgusting.
“I am so embarrassed,” said Silly Groundhog. “I was so concerned about coming out to see if I would see my shadow or not that I forgot to brush my teeth.”
“Here,” said Bad Teeth Bradley. “I just came from my dentist. I have an extra toothbrush and toothpaste.”
Silly Groundhog brushed his teeth and this time, when everyone snapped photos of him, Silly Groundhog’s teeth shone.
“That is much better,” said the crowd, looking at their photos.
“You saved the day,” said Silly Groundhog to Bad Teeth Bradley. “Thank you so much!”
“You are very welcome,” said Bad Teeth Bradley.
“I am very proud of you,” said Dr. Stevens, Bad Teeth Bradley’s dentist, who happened to be in the crowd. “You are finally realizing the importance of brushing your teeth.”
“Thank you,” said Bad Teeth Bradley, feeling good about himself.
