Halloween Disaster

Batty was very busy getting his cave ready for his Halloween party. The only thing he had left to do was to clean his bathroom.

“I can’t have a dirty bathroom when I am having tons of guests over,” said Batty.

Batty took his cleaning bucket and supplies and flew into the bathroom. He turned on the bathroom sink to fill up his bucket. He noticed the water in the sink wasn’t going down.

“Oh dear!” cried Batty. “This is a disaster! What am I going to do?”

Batty remembered he had seen a flyer for a new plumber that just moved to Storyland. He hoped he hadn’t thrown the flyer out.

“Oh good!” exclaimed Batty, when he found the flyer sitting on top of his fridge. “I didn’t throw it out.”

Batty called the phone number on the flyer.

“Pete of Pete’s Plumbing here,” said the man on the other end of the phone. “How can I help you?”

Batty explained the situation to Pete and he also explained the urgency of the situation.

“I just walked in the door,” said Pete. “Tell you what, you let me eat my dinner and then I’ll be right over.”

“That would be wonderful,” said Batty. “Thank you so much.”

Pete the Plumber was a man of his word. As soon as he ate, he rushed over to Batty’s cave. Batty had guests arriving for the Halloween party and nobody seemed to mind the man in the plumber costume.

“Nice costume,” some of Batty’s friends said. “It is very realistic. If it wasn’t Halloween, I would think you were a real plumber.”

Pete the Plumber laughed while he went and tackled the job at hand. Within half an hour, he had Batty’s bathroom sink unclogged.

“Thank you so much,” said Batty. “You saved my party.”

“Nice costume,” said another of Batty’s guests, seeing Pete the Plumber. “I think you should win the best dressed costume prize!”

“That is okay,” said Pete the Plumber, being bashful. “This costume is just something I whipped up in a hurry.”

“I think you saved the party in more ways than one!” laughed Batty. “Happy Halloween!”

Moral of this Story:

  • It is always a good idea to keep a plumbers phone number handy.
  • Example: Batty was lucky he kept the flyer with Pete the Plumber’s phone number on it. Pete the Plumber saved Batty’s Halloween party from becoming a disaster.
