Lonely Scarecrow is Thankful for the Crows

Lonely Scarecrow was sitting on his fence post as usual. He was busy keeping the crows out of the cornfield. It was a beautiful autumn day. Lonely Scarecrow was looking across the field in front of him. He caught a glimpse of the main house.

“That is strange,” said Lonely Scarecrow. “I see a ton of cars pulling into the driveway and going up to the main house.”

Lonely Scarecrow thought for a minute.

“The only time of the year that I see that many cars,” thought Lonely Scarecrow. “Is when it is Thanksgiving or Christmas.”

Lonely Scarecrow thought for another minute.

“Wait a minute,” said Lonely Scarecrow. “It is Thanksgiving.”

Thanksgiving was one of Lonely Scarecrow’s favourite holidays. For him, Thanksgiving was all about being thankful for what he had.

“This may sound silly,” said Lonely Scarecrow. “But, I am thankful for the crows because if there were no crows, I wouldn’t have a job and I love my job very much. I mean, what other job could I have where I can sit on a fence post all day long and just scare crows away!”

Moral of this Story:

  • Thanksgiving should be all about being thankful for what we have.
  • Example: Lonely Scarecrow loved Thanksgiving. For him, it is all about being thankful for what he has.
