Fishing Kid Stories
Fishing Kid is a character created in 2005 for the Canadian Family stories, based in New Brunswick and inspired by the author’s travels through the province. At his heart, however, Fishing Kid carries the warmth of childhood—of fishing trips with his grandfather at a cottage in Bobcaygeon, Ontario, of casting lines from the dock and riding out on the motorboat, of watching his grandfather catch fresh pickerel and his grandmother cook it for breakfast. Fishing Kid embodies a love of fishing that runs deep, even though his creator has never seen a large fishing boat up close. He is a character born from memory, from longing, and from the simple truth that some moments—and the people who share them with us—are worth holding onto forever.
