Angry Leprechaun Learns About the Importance of St. Patrick’s Day
“It is St. Patrick’s Day,” said Grand Old Leprechaun. “It is a special day for all leprechauns. It is a day we can celebrate.”
“What is the big deal about St. Patrick’s Day?” asked Tommy, angrily. “I just don’t get it.”
“Okay,” said Grand Old Leprechaun. “You know what St. Patrick’s Day means to us. Why are you so angry?”
“It seems that we live for St. Patrick’s Day,” said Tommy. “We wait all year for it to come, it comes and goes and then we wait for it again the next year.”
“Well,” said Grand Old Leprechaun. “What would life be like if we didn’t have St. Patrick’s Day?”
Tommy thought about what Grand Old Leprechaun just said. He knew that it would be very boring if there were no such thing as St. Patrick’s Day. He knew he would miss the St. Patrick’s Day parade. He knew he would miss the celebrations, the food, the fun and the laughter.
“I don’t think I would want to live in a world with no St. Patrick’s Day,” said Tommy. “I realize it would be a very boring world without it.”
“I know it can be monotonous,” said Grand Old Leprechaun. “We go through the same rituals every year. However, just remember that we must always be grateful for St. Patrick’s Day. It is our special day of celebration.”
“Yes,” said Tommy, agreeing with what Grand Old Leprechaun was telling him. “I do understand and I know now what the big deal is about St. Patrick’s Day.”
“That is good,” said Grand Old Leprechaun, patting Tommy on the head. “Now let’s get ready for our day full of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.”
“Good idea,” said Tommy, heading upstairs to change into his best leprechaun suit. “Good idea.”
