Peanut – Christmas Story
“This is going to be the best Christmas I have ever had,” said Peanut, speaking to Lost Christmas Tree, outside of the Christmas Building. “I am so excited to be here!”
Peanut did a little dance. He swirled around a few times and he became dizzy. He almost knocked Lost Christmas Tree over.
“Oh my!” exclaimed Lost Christmas Tree, laughing. “You better be careful. You almost knocked me over. I can see that you are excited to be here. It is nice to have you here. I am having a problem with Christmas this year. I feel Christmas is lost to me. I have gifts for all the residents in the Christmas Building but I don’t feel right handing them out. I feel that some of the Storyland characters don’t know the meaning of Christmas and have not done any good deeds this past year. What does Christmas mean to you and what good deed have you done?”
“Christmas, to me, means taking care of others,” said Peanut. “Since the day I fell off the peanut truck, I have had to rely on others. There is an agency in town that provided me with food and shelter. Without that agency, I would have starved and/or froze to death. Because of the support they gave to me, I have been volunteering my time with. them. I have been helping them out in any possible way that I can.”
“That is really good that you have been helping them out,” said Lost Christmas Tree.
“I really enjoy it,” said Peanut.
“I am sure they appreciate your help,” said Lost Christmas Tree, handing Peanut his Christmas gift. “Merry Christmas!”
“Merry Christmas to you too,” said Peanut. “Thank you!”
