Arrow is Thankful for Cutie
“What smells so good?” asked Arrow, a beautiful 8 year old black and white cat.
“I think it is the turkey that is cooking in the oven,” said his sister, Cutie, the most precious calico coloured cat there ever was.
“That is right,” said Arrow. “I remember Mommy saying it was Thanksgiving.”
“I like Thanksgiving,” said Cutie, sitting up in the chair she was laying on and licking her paws.
“Do you even know what Thanksgiving is?” asked Arrow.
“Of course I do,” said Cutie. “It is where we all get to eat a ton of turkey.”
“What else?” asked Arrow.
“We get to eat some dessert too,” said Cutie.
“True,” said Arrow. “However, Thanksgiving is for us to reflect on what we are grateful for.”
“Oh,” said Cutie. “That is easy. I am thankful for turkey and dessert.”
Arrow shook his head.
“What?” asked Cutie. “What is wrong with being thankful for turkey and dessert?”
“We are supposed to be thankful for things like Mommy, Daddy and each other,” said Arrow.
” So you are thankful for me,” said Cutie.
Arrow thought about what he just said. He never realized it but, yes, he was thankful for his sister. He loved her very much.
“Yes,” said Arrow. “I am thankful to have you as my sister. I love you very much.”
“I am also thankful to have you as my brother,” said Cutie. “I love you very much too.”
Arrow jumped up onto the chair Cutie was sitting on and gave her a kiss on her cheek.
“Let’s go get some turkey,” said Arrow.
“Yes,” said Cutie. “Let’s.”
