Meet Veteran Phil
Welcome to the Meet Veteran Phil page. Veteran Phil is a 95 year old man. He fought on the frontlines of World War II. He was 20 years old when he entered the war in 1943.
Veteran Phil saw a lot of action but he also was instrumental in saving the lives of many fellow soldiers because of his knack of sniffing out the enemies.
Over the years, many people have praised him about his actions. Many people have called him a hero. He just laughs and tells everyone that he is no hero.
Veteran Phil still has nightmares of his experience. He refuses to seek counselling and he will not talk about the war.
Veteran Phil is a very humble, kind and considerate man who leads a very simple life. He lives on his family farm in small town, Lanigan, Saskatchewan. He lives with his wife, Mary, who just turned 90.
