Fly Away Butterfly

Jayden was outside in her garden. She was enjoying the beautiful fragrance of her roses. She was very pleased with how her garden turned out this year.

She was going to get the garden hose and water her garden but out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a beautiful butterfly. She stepped back and watched it.

The butterfly was a pretty orange and black colour and Jayden noticed it had little orange dots along the edge of its wings.

“You are the most beautiful butterfly I have ever seen,” said Jayden.

The butterfly landed on her rose bush and stayed there for a few minutes. Jayden took her cell-phone out of her pocket and was just going to take a picture of the butterfly on her rose bush when all of a sudden, Jayden heard a crow in the distance.

“Caw! Caw!” called the crow, who landed right beside Jayden’s rose bush.

“Oh no you don’t!” screamed Jayden, seeing the crow eyeing the butterfly.

Jayden picked up a twig and poked it at the crows tummy. Soon, the crow gave up and flew away.

“Good riddance,” said Jayden.

Once the butterfly knew the crow was gone, she flew away.

“Fly away butterfly,” said Jayden, watching the butterfly fly away. “Be safe.”

Jayden was so happy that the crow didn’t get the butterfly. She knew that she wouldn’t be able to protect the butterfly forever but at least she did protect it for just that one day.

Moral of this Story:

  • Try to protect things that are vulnerable.
  • Example: Jayden protected a beautiful butterfly from a crow.
