Fawn’s Favourite Suit
“Fawn,” said Spot. “What are you doing? You haven’t even got your room cleaned up yet!”
Spot was a little angry at Fawn because today was Thanksgiving and Spot was cooking the Thanksgiving meal. She was having the whole Hansen family for dinner. Spot had said that she would take care of cooking the whole dinner and all Fawn had to do was to clean up his room.
“I already cleaned up my room,” said Fawn.
“Oh dear,” said Spot, impatiently, pointing to a heap in the middle of the floor. “You call this clean. Look at the pile of clothes that are on the floor.”
Fawn went over to where Spot was pointing to and picked up the pile of clothing.
“There,” said Fawn, holding the clothing in his arms. “Isn’t that better?”
“I guess it is,” said Spot.
Spot did notice that Fawn’s room was a lot cleaner than she had thought at first especially since he picked up the pile of clothes he had in the middle of the room. Fawn went over to his bed and dropped the clothes onto his bed.
“Fawn,” said Spot. “Why did you put the clothes on your bed? Now your bed looks messy. Please fold those clothes up and put them away.”
“But Spot,” said Fawn. “These are the clothes that you told me to take out of my closet yesterday. I don’t wear them anymore. That is why I put them on the floor.”
Spot went into the kitchen and grabbed a garbage bag. She went back into Fawn’s room and handed the garbage bag to him.
“Put those clothes in here,” said Spot. “Then I want you to take them over to the Hansen’s house. Mrs. Hansen is going to take them to the Goodwill tomorrow.”
“Okay,” said Fawn, putting all the clothes that were on his bed into the garbage bag.
What Fawn didn’t realize is that Spot had laid out his favourite suit on his bed that morning. When Fawn put his clothes into the bag, he put his suit in there as well.
“Okay go get dressed,” said Spot, once Fawn had come back from taking the bag of clothes to the Hansen’s house.
Fawn went into his room and looked for his favourite suit.
“Spot,” said Fawn, walking out to the kitchen where Spot was busy cooking. “I can’t find my favourite suit.”
“I put it on your bed this morning,” said Spot.
“Well there is nothing on the bed now,” said Fawn.
“Oh Fawn,” said Spot. “You must have put your suit in the bag with the other clothes. You will have to go back to the Hansen’s and see if it is still there.”
Fawn went back to the Hansen’s house and luckily enough his suit was there. He finally was able to get dressed.
“You look very nice,” said Spot, just before the dinner guests arrived.
