The First Snowfall
“Fawn!” exclaimed Spot. “Come quick!”
“What is it?” Fawn asked hurrying to get into the kitchen to find out what was the matter.
“Look,” said Spot, holding back the kitchen window curtains.
Fawn looked out the window.
“Oh my!” exclaimed Fawn, happily. “It is snowing outside!”
“Yes,” said Spot. “Our first snowfall in British Columbia! Isn’t it beautiful!”
“Oh yes,” said Fawn. “It definitely is!”
Fawn went out in the hallway as quickly as he could.
“Wait for me!” said Spot, knowing that Fawn was going to go outside to play in the snow.
Both Fawn and Spot went outside to play in the snow. They both loved it. The air was so crisp and fresh and the snow made everything look so white and pure.
“I want to go tobogganing,” said Fawn. “Right down that big mountain!”
Spot looked over to the mountain that Fawn was pointing at. It was at least 100 feet tall and it was a straight drop down the side.
“No,” said Spot, pointing to a much smaller mountain. “You’ll go tobogganing down this mountain.”
“Oh alright,” said Fawn.
Fawn went inside to get the toboggans. When he came out he couldn’t help but laugh at Spot, who was making a snow angel in the snow.
“That looks ridiculous,” laughed Fawn.
“But it is lots of fun!” exclaimed Spot.
Fawn got down in the snow and tried to make one too. He had a hard time maneuvering himself in the snow but he did have fun trying.
Fawn and Spot spent the rest of the day tobogganing and playing in the snow. They had a riot outside and didn’t even realize that it was dinner time when Mr. Hansen came to feed them.
“Looks like you two are having lots of fun,” laughed Mr. Hansen.
“We are!” exclaimed Fawn and Spot together.
“It sure is beautiful here in mountains,” stated Mr. Hansen.
“Absolutely,” said Fawn and Spot together, throwing snowballs at each other.
