The New Gold
Finley the Forklift Driver was working the early morning shift at the warehouse he works at. He noticed the lights were already turned on, which he thought was very strange. He was very cautious when he entered the building.
“What is going on here?” asked Finley the Forklift Driver, seeing the warehouse was full of leprechauns, running up and down the aisles of the warehouse, carrying huge boxes to the warehouse doors.
“We are buying the new gold,” said Grand Old Leprechaun, as he approached Finley.
“I don’t understand,” said Finley. “This warehouse is full of toilet paper. There is no gold here.”
“Maybe not to you,” said Grand Old Leprechaun. “However, we have heard that toilet paper is the new gold. We intend to become rich beyond our wildest dreams.”
“Is this because of the coronavirus?” asked Finley, finally clueing in. “So what, you are going
to do, steal the toilet paper out of this warehouse and then sell it back to us.”
“We aren’t stealing anything,” said Grand Old Leprechaun, pointing to a table full of pots of gold. “We are paying for it with our pots of gold.”
“You’d better hope what is in those pots of gold is enough to cover the price of all that toilet paper you have,” said Finley, trying to outsmart the leprechauns at their own game. “The price of toilet paper has just gone up!”
