Being Nice
“Fawn,” said Spot. “We should do something today. It is warm outside and pretty soon it is going to snow and we won’t be able to spend anytime outside.”
“I don’t want to do anything today,” said Fawn.
“Are you feeling alright?” asked Spot, a little shocked that Fawn didn’t want to do anything.
“I’m alright,” said Fawn. “I just don’t feel like doing anything, that’s all.”
“It’s just not like you to behave like this,” said Spot. “But, I don’t want to bother you so I’ll just leave you alone.”
“Thank you,” said Fawn.
Fawn sat down on the side of his bed when Spot left, thinking of Spot and himself and thinking about the mood he was in.
“Spot is just so nice to me,” said Fawn, to himself. “I should do something nice for her and maybe, just maybe it will take me out of this bad mood that I am in.”
Fawn got out all his craft supplies and started making some paper flowers for Spot. Fawn was in his room for a few hours, working quietly, with his bedroom door closed. Just as he was finishing up his surprise for Spot, Spot knocked on his door.
“Fawn,” said Spot. “I’m really getting worried about you. Are you okay?”
“Yes,” said Fawn, quickly putting his craft supplies away. “I’m okay.”
Spot opened the bedroom door and was surprised when Fawn handed her the paper flowers that he had made.
“Oh Fawn,” said Spot. “These are beautiful.”
Fawn felt in a much better mood than he was in earlier.
“Gee,” said Fawn. “Do you still want to go for that walk?”
“Sure,” said Spot.
Fawn and Spot went for a wonderful walk and they had a lot of fun laughing and joking around.
“I should do more nice things for Spot,” said Fawn, to himself, later that evening. “It makes me feel better too.”
