Beatrice Bee and the Pea Pods

Beatrice Bee was flying around Storyland, when she saw something on the ground that caught her eye. She flew down and was going to land on the ground but the ground was very hot.

“I don’t want to burn my feet,” said Beatrice Bee. “This summer has been so hot.”

“It has been very hot,” said a voice beside Beatrice.

Beatrice turned around to take a look. She was surprised at what she saw. Beside her was what looked like a real live peapod.

“You are a pea pod,” said Beatrice, flying close to the pea pod. “My name is Beatrice Bee.”

“I am Baby Pea Pod,” said the pea pod.

“It is nice to meet you,” said Beatrice.

“It is nice to meet you as well,” said Baby Pea Pod. “How come you aren’t green?”

“I am a bee,” said Beatrice. “Bees are yelled with black stripes.”

“Come with me,” said Baby Pea Pod.

Beatrice followed Baby Pea Pod. They went into a shed. Baby Pea Pod took a can of green paint off the shelf and reached for a paintbrush.

“What are you doing?” Beatrice heard a woman’s voice from behind her.

“I want to paint the bee green,” said Baby Pea Pod.” Please, Sue.”

“Now,” said Sue, who is the wife of the owner of the farm. “We have talked about this many times. You can’t make everything green. The bee has a very pretty yellow colour with black stripes.”

Baby Pea Pod put the paintbrush down.

“That is better,” said Sue.

“My name is Beatrice Bee,” said Beatrice. “Thank you for not letting Baby Pea Pod paint me.”

“My name is Sue,” said Sue.” My husband, Farmer Ted, owns this farm. We are fortunate enough to have the Pea Pod family as our own family. We love them very much. They are however, obsessed with the colour green.”

“Yes,” agreed Beatrice. “I saw that. It is okay though. There was no harm done.”

“True,” said Sue. “Very true.”

Moral of this Story:
