Forgetful Fred Forgets It’s August

Forgetful Fred woke up one hot August morning. He got dressed and went downstairs. He proceeded to put his winter boots and winter coat on.

“Forgetful Fred,” said his wife, Sarah. “What are you doing?”

“I’m going outside to shovel the driveway,” said Forgetful Fred.

“Oh Forgetful Fred,” said Sarah. “You can’t shovel the driveway.”

“Why not?” asked Forgetful Fred.

“Well there is no snow outside,” said Sarah.

“There isn’t,” said Forgetful Fred.

“It is August,” said Sarah. “There is no snow in August.”

“Okay,” said Forgetful Fred, taking off his winter coat and hanging it up and taking off his winter boots.

Forgetful Fred went out to the garage. He got out a rake and put his rubber boots on.

“Now what are you doing?” asked Sarah.

“I’m going to rake the leaves,” said Forgetful Fred.

“Well, first of all,” said Sarah. “There are no leaves to rake yet. It is only August.”

“Oh,” said Forgetful Fred. “Well what am I supposed to do in August?”

“Well,” said Sarah. “We can take a nice drive and go for a nice picnic lunch.”

“Oh,” said Forgetful Fred. “That sounds like fun. I think I like August very much.”

Forgetful Fred and Sarah did enjoy their August picnic very much. They both enjoyed getting out of the house for the day and also they enjoyed the nice warm weather.
