Environment Bug and Clean Air

“Oh dear,” said Environment Bug early one morning, while going for his daily walk. “The air in this city is terrible.”

Environment Bug lives in Toronto, Ontario. However, he just came back from a vacation in the mountains in British Columbia.

“I should have stayed in BC,” said Environment Bug to himself. “The air was so clean and so fresh. I haven’t sniffed air like that ever, while living in Ontario.”

Toronto, Ontario is known for smog. Often times, you can see a hazy cloud sitting low over the city. This cloud is filled with pollution. With over two million people living in the city it is no wonder. So many cars, trucks and factories are contributors to the smog.

I never really had a problem with the pollution because I was always so used to it but, after spending sometime in fresh, mountain air, I realize that the pollution in Toronto is bad and I am going to do my best to do something about it.

Instead of driving my car to work, I am going to ride my bicycle and in the winter months, I will take the bus. I will actually be killing two birds with one stone by doing this because not only will it be better for the environment, but it will also save me a ton of money.

If everyone did their part in helping the environment, this city would be a much better place to live in. I realize that we will never have the air quality that citizens of British Columbia have, but we can have much better quality air than what we have now.
