Father’s Day Message From Space

Astrid the Astronaut was sitting in the console of the rocket she was flying in, throughout outer space. She happened to look up at a calendar that she had hung up on the wall. She was surprised to see the date.

“Today is Father’s Day,” said Astrid. “I wonder what I can do for my dad for Fathers Day. He has been so supportive of my career choice. I need to do something very special for him.”

Astrid thought long and hard about what she could do for her dad. She was limited in what she could do and that was because she was in a rocketship, out in outer space. It wasn’t like she could go to a mall and get him something.

“I need to send my dad a message for Father’s Day,” said Astrid, thinking out loud. “A message. I got it. I could send him a message from space!”

Astrid spoke to Mission Control and she asked if they wouldn’t mind getting her dad on the phone for her. She told them she wanted to send her dad a Father’s Day message from space.”

Mission Control obliged but they did something even better. They arranged to have a video chat between Astrid and her dad.

“Happy Father’s Day, Daddy!” cried Astrid, when she saw her dad on the monitor.

“A Father’s Day message from space,” her dad cried. “This is amazing!”

It was a very emotional meeting. Both Astrid and her dad had tears streaming from their eyes.

“This is the best Father’s Day gift ever,” cried her dad.

“It will be very difficult for me to top this one next year,” laughed Astrid.

“Yes it will,” laughed her dad.

Moral of this Story:
