Running into Spring

“Oh how I love spring,” said Runner Rabbit. “The days are really starting to warm up.”

“They certainly are,” said Runner Rabbits friend, Rita Rabbit.

“I think I can now turn the heat down,” said Runner Rabbit, noticing the furnace just kicked in. “It will save me some money on my heating bill.”

“That is a good idea,” said Rita Rabbit. “Speaking of heating bills, have you paid your winter heating bill yet?”

“No, not yet,” said Runner Rabbit.

“You aren’t planning on running away to avoid paying it?” asked Rita Rabbit. “Are you?”

“I thought about it,” said Runner Rabbit, honestly.

“Runner!” cried Rita Rabbit. “You can’t run from your bills. Running will not solve anything. Your heating bill will still be there!”

“I would have paid it,” said Runner Rabbit, handing Rita an envelope with a cheque in it. “However, I don’t have a stamp. I don’t want to run away. I want to run into spring so I can enjoy it.”

“I have an extra stamp at home,” said Rita Rabbit. “I can mail it for you.”

“Yes please,” said Runner Rabbit. “Now, let’s go enjoy spring.”

“Good idea,” said Rita, laughing.
