Billy Troll’s Christmas Spirit

Billy Troll and his wife, Dianne, were in the Troll Town Shopping Mall, doing some last minute Christmas shopping, when they happened to see a little troll child sitting on a bench. The troll child was clutching her teddy bear tightly. Tears were pouring down her cheek.

“Oh dear,” said Billy, crouching down beside the troll child. “What seems to be the matter?”

Dianne reached into her purse and gave the troll child a tissue. The troll child was so upset that she could barely speak.

“I – I,” the troll child stuttered.

“Look,” said Billy, in a soft, gentle voice. “You must stop your crying so you can tell us what is wrong. Otherwise we won’t be able to help you.”

The troll child started to settle down and Billy and Dianne were finally able to figure out what the problem was. It seemed the troll child was Christmas shopping with her older brother and they had become separated. The troll child seemed more upset about that fact that she wasn’t able to finish her Christmas shopping than being separated from her brother.

“Well,” said Billy, taking the troll child’s hand in his. “What is your name?”

“My name is Julie Troll,” said the troll child.

“Okay, Julie Troll,” said Billy. “This is what we are going to do. I’m going to call your mother and let her know that you are safe and sound and then, how would you like to go Christmas shopping with me and Dianne.”

“But,” said Julie. “I don’t have any money. My brother has all my Christmas money.”

“Don’t you worry about that,” said Dianne. “You don’t need any money when you come shopping with us.”

Billy called Mrs. Troll, Julie’s mother, and explained to her what had happened. She was a little bit leery of having Julie go Christmas shopping with two total strangers, until she realized who Billy Troll was.

Billy and Dianne had a lot of fun shopping with Julie. Dianne was able to help Julie find the perfect gift for Julie’s mother and Billy was able to help her find the perfect gift for her father and brother. After the shopping spree, Billy and Dianne took Julie home.

“Oh Julie!” exclaimed Mrs. Troll happily, when she saw her daughter at the front door.

“Julie,” said Billy. “We bought everyone else a gift tonight but we didn’t buy one for you. I have a special gift for you right here in my pocket.”

Billy reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a pair of concert tickets to his upcoming Christmas Bash Concert.

“Thank you,” said Julie. “I really like Billy Troll…”

Julie just then realized who Billy and Dianne really were and gasped.

“Oh Billy and Dianne,” said Julie, hugging them both. “You are the best!”
