Unlucky Christmas

“Oh dear,” said Unlucky Uncle Ungus, to himself. “My throat is a little scratchy. It is a little sore. It is Friday the 13th. I hope I don’t get sick. I do not want to be sick for Christmas. It would be just my luck though.”

Poor Unlucky Uncle Ungus had himself convinced that he was getting sick for Christmas. He blamed it all on the fact that he always had bad luck on Friday the 13th, no matter what.

“It is just terrible that there is a Friday the 13th in December,” said Unlucky Uncle Ungus. “There are only 12 more days until Christmas.”

Unlucky Uncle Ungus had himself all worked up He was fit to be tied.

“Whatever will I do,” said Unlucky Uncle Ungus. “I think I need a cup of tea to calm my nerves.”

Unlucky Uncle Ungus made himself that cup of tea. It not only helped him calm his nerves, it also helped his with his sore throat. About an hour later, his throat felt as good as new.

“Thank goodness,” said Unlucky Uncle Ungus. “Maybe I am not going to be sick after all.”

It turned out that Unlucky Uncle Ungus just had a scratch in his throat and it went away as quickly as it came.

“Maybe I have a little bit of good luck in me after all,” said Unlucky Uncle Ungus.
