Halloween Candy

Gooseberry had to do some shopping so, she flew to the grocery store in town. Her brothers Raspberry, Blackberry and Blueberry told her to not to get anymore candy for Halloween. They already had lots.

“Look at all the Halloween candy that is on sale,” said Gooseberry. “I know we already have tons but I just can’t resist these prices.”

Gooseberry took her candy and groceries home. Raspberry, Blackberry and Blueberry had all gone shopping in the next few days. They had all bought more candy.

“We couldn’t resist the sale on this candy,” said Raspberry.

“I couldn’t either,” said Gooseberry. “What are we going to do with it all?”

There were a lot of bags of candy sitting on the kitchen table. There was way more than the Monster Berry Family were able to eat themselves.

“You know,” said Gooseberry. “There is a children’s hospital in town. We could donate some of the candy for the children for Halloween.”

“That is a wonderful idea,” said Raspberry. “Think of the joy that will bring to the children.”

Gooseberry took the candy to the hospital. The hospital was thrilled. Because of budget cuts, they weren’t going to be able to buy Halloween candy for the children. The hospital staff even let Gooseberry visit with the children.

“That was great,” said Gooseberry, telling her brothers all about her visit with the children. “The children were smiling and they were so happy that they were getting some candy for Halloween. It sure did brighten their day.”

Moral of this Story:

  • It is always good to donate any extras.
  • Example: Gooseberry donated the Monster Berry Family’s extra Halloween candy to the children at the local hospital. The children were thrilled.
