Winter Baking

“I can’t believe this,” said Angry Baker. “My baked goods aren’t selling very well. I am so angry. I just don’t understand it.”

“I don’t either,” said Melissa, Angry Baker’s fiancĂ©e. “You have never had a problem before.”

“I have used the same recipes,” said Angry Baker. “Nothing has changed.”

“Maybe that is the reason,” said Melissa.

“What are you talking about?” asked Angry Baker, annoyed.

“It is winter,” said Melissa. “You need to do some winter baking. You need winter flavours such as apples, cinnamon and mint. I think your customers may have gotten tired of the same thing here.”

Angry Baker thought about what Melissa had just said. He didn’t want to admit it but the more he thought about it, the more he realized she was right.

“Thank you,” said Angry Baker, giving Melissa a big hug and kiss.

Angry Baker spent that afternoon baking apple pies, apple bread, cinnamon buns and mint cookies. The next afternoon, his bakery was so busy that he actually sold out of everything.

“Now, that was a much better day,” said Angry Baker. “And I was able to save a mint cookie just for you.”

“Thank you,” said Melissa, glad Angry Baker was in a better mood.

Moral of this Story:

  • It is good to try different things.
  • Example: Melissa suggested Angry Baker try some winter flavours when he wasn’t selling his usual baked goods.
