Christopher Corn and a Positive Spin

“I left my old life behind,” sang Chard Benning, who was sitting in Loud Garden, playing his guitar. “I shouldn’t have done it. I should have stayed but I took the hit.”

Christopher Corn heard his friend singing. He knew it was July 20th, the first anniversary of Chard taking his own life on Earth. Christopher wondered if Chard would have taken his life if he hadn’t done so as well. Christopher felt guilty about the fact that he took his own life May 18, 2017. He felt guilty because when he took his own life, he didn’t think about the people that he left behind.

Christopher and Chard were very good friends on Earth. Chard respected Christopher and when he found out that Christopher had taken his life, he knew he couldn’t stand being on Earth without him.

“I know it is July 20th,” said Christopher. “I know you are hurting but let’s not dwell on it. I will always feel guilty for you leaving Earth. However, we must make the most of what we have. Here in Loud Garden, we have our talent so let’s make the most of it.”

Christopher grabbed his guitar and started singing with Chard. Christopher did his best to put a positive spin on the events that happened.

“I have a new life in Loud Garden,” sang Christopher. “I regret what I did. But, I must move on. I don’t want to stay hid.”

“I just realized you put a positive spin on my dark song,” said Chard.

“There are always two choices to everything,” said Christopher. “You can either wait around for the worst to happen or you can do something positive and have a happier life.”

“That is so true,” said Chard. “I am so happy to have you as my friend.”

“I am too,” said Christopher, wiping a happy tear out of his eye.
