Bluey Bluebird looked up one morning and she could feel something warm upon her back. It was something she hadn’t felt for a very long time.
“I can feel the warmth of the sun, on my back,” said Bluely Bluebird to herself. “I think it is finally spring.”
Bluey looked around. On the tree that she lived in, she saw that the leaves were starting to come out. She glanced below her and she saw sprouts of green grass starting to grow up through the forest floor.
“This is so exciting,” said Bluey.
It had been a long and cold winter. Bluey knew that she had to announce to all the forest animals that spring had finally come.
Bluey flew around the forest, stopping at every forest animal she saw. She announced to everyone that spring was finally here.
“Mrs. Turtle,” said Bluey. “Spring has finally arrived. Isn’t it wonderful?”
“Oh it is,” said Mrs. Turtle. “Boy, you are as sweet as a blueberry for announcing to us that spring is here. However, you are also very funny because I do believe that all of us animals in the forest know that spring is here.”
Bluey didn’t care. She was so happy that spring had finally arrived. She wanted to make sure everyone knew it.
