Beatrice Bee at the Ranch

Beatrice Bee was flying around Storyland. She saw a ranch below.

“That looks like a pretty big ranch,” said Beatrice Bee. “There are horses and cows there.”

Beatrice flew down to take a look. She landed on a fence post.

“Oh my!” exclaimed the owner of the ranch, Rancher Girl, who saw Beatrice on the fence post. “You aren’t going to sting me or cause trouble for my horses or cows, are you?”

“No,” said Beatrice. “I would never do that. I don’t want to cause you any problems. My name is Beatrice Bee.”

“It is nice to meet you,” said Rancher Girl. “My name is Rancher Girl. Welcome to my ranch.”

“Thank you,” said Beatrice.” This is a very nice ranch you have.”

“It is a lot of work to keep going,” said Rancher Girl. “However, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

“I don’t blame you,” said Beatrice.

“I have a lot of work to do today,” said Rancher Girl.

“Oh okay,” said Beatrice. “I will get out of your way.”

“You don’t have to leave,” said Rancher Girl. “Stay and I will show you around the ranch.”

“I would love that,” said Beatrice. “However, I don’t want to be in your way.”

“A tiny little thing like you, will never be in my way,” said Rancher Girl.

Beatrice flew along side of Rancher Girl. Rancher Girl showed Beatrice all the outbuildings and all the animals she had on the ranch. Beatrice was happy that she got to see the ranch and she was grateful. Rancher Girl said that she took time from her busy schedule to give her a tour. She had a lot of fun.

Moral of this Story:

  • Have respect for people who have work to do.
  • Example: Rancher Girl asked Beatrice Bee to stay and that she would show her the ranch. Beatrice Bee did not want to get in her way.
