Fred the Farmer – Character Insight
I created my character, Fred the Farmer, for my Canadian Trades/Professions Story Challenge. Fred the Farmer is a super important person who helps us get yummy food like beef, pork, chicken, and veggies right here in Canada.
Fred lives in a place called Lindsay, Ontario, and guess what? He’s a third-generation farmer, which means his dad and granddad were farmers too! They all love taking care of their farm,.
Farming is a big job that needs lots of planning and hard work. Sometimes things go great, and sometimes they don’t, but Fred and his family keep trying no matter what. That’s because when they sit down to eat, most of the food was grown by them, and that feels awesome!
Fred wakes up super early and works until it’s really late, but he loves it! He tried working in an office once, but it wasn’t for him. He’s happiest when he’s outside, working with his hands and the earth.
So, next time you eat a delicious meal, think of Fred and all the farmers who help fill our plates. They’re real-life heroes!
