Cupcakes with Sprinkles

It was a very cold winter day. Sprinkles was in her bedroom. Her friend, Chelsea was visiting her.

“I am so bored,” said Sprinkles.

“I am too,” said Chelsea.

“We have been playing with our dolls for over an hour now,” said Sprinkles. “I want to do something different.”

“I do too,” said Chelsea. “What do you want to do?”

“Let’s bake something,” said Sprinkles.

“That sounds like fun,” said Chelsea.

“Did I hear you say that you wanted to bake something?” asked Sprinkles’ mother, who was putting away the laundry.

“Yes,” said Sprinkles. “We are bored.”

“Well,” said Mother. “I was just going to bake some cupcakes. I sure could use some help.”

“We would love to help you,” said Chelsea. “Maybe we could use some of the sprinkles in your hair, Sprinkles.”

“I was hoping we could,” said Mother.

“Good thing I have a head full of them,” laughed Sprinkles, shaking her head a little and watching some sprinkles fall to the floor.

Sprinkles has a rare disorder that she was born with. She has sprinkles instead of hair. She also has sprinkles for her eyebrows, eyes and lips. They are the multi-coloured sprinkles that are used on cakes, cupcakes and cookies.

“These cupcakes are so delicious,” said Chelsea taking a big bite of one that Sprinkles’ mother handed to her.

“Yes they are,” said Mother. “Especially with the sprinkles on them.”
