A Leaky Prank

Jackie Jester was in the kitchen with his mother. He watched as she took her water bottle, filled it up and set it on the kitchen counter. She then went to the front door to get the morning paper.

Jackie knew it was April Fool’s Day. He quickly emptied mother’s water bottle in the sink. He then sat back down at the kitchen table.

“That is strange,” said Mother, coming back into the kitchen to get her water bottle. “I am sure I filled it up.”

Mother checked the water bottle to see if it was leaking. She couldn’t see any leaks and the bottom of the bottle was dry. She filled it back up again.

The phone rang so she went into the living room to answer it. Jackie emptied the water bottle once again.

“I know I filled it up,” said Mother. “What is going on?”

“We have a little prankster in our midst,” said Father, who was in the dining room and saw what Jackie had done.

“April Fool’s!” exclaimed Jackie, laughing.

“Why you!” shouted Mother, also laughing.
