Christmas Building 2024 – Apartment 11 – Colour Kid

The snowflakes gently fell onto the ground as Colour Kid grabbed his paintbrush, paints, and palette.

“It won’t be long until Christmas is here,” he exclaimed, his eyes shining with excitement. “I am going to paint a picture of a Christmas tree.”

He looked down at his paints and thought to himself that they would never do. The colors seemed dull and uninspiring, not vibrant enough to capture the magic of the season.

“I will have to go shopping,” said Colour Kid, making his way to the mall.

The crisp winter air invigorated him as he walked, the snowflakes dancing around him like tiny ballerinas. As he entered the mall doors, he was shocked to see pure white everywhere. There was not a single Christmas color in sight. The blandness of the decor was a stark contrast to the vibrant colors of the winter wonderland outside.

“This is not good,” Colour Kid said to the cashier at the art supply store, his brow furrowed with concern. “There is not a single Christmas color in this mall. Everything is pure white.”

The cashier’s expression turned sympathetic.

“My dad is the one that normally paints the mall for Christmas,” she explained. “He has been sick and hasn’t been able to do it.”

Colour Kid’s face lit up with a brilliant idea.

“Perhaps I could paint the mall?” he suggested, his eyes shining with enthusiasm.

The cashier’s face broke into a smile.

“I don’t see why not,” she said. “I do think you will need more paint than what you are going to buy. My dad has a utility room that he stores all the paint in.” She handed Colour Kid a key, and he set to work, transforming the mall into a Christmas wonderland.

By the end of that business day, Colour Kid had already added some Christmas color to the mall, and it was already looking more like Christmas. The vibrant colors and intricate designs seemed to dance across the walls, infusing the space with a sense of joy and wonder. As the days passed, the mall became a magical destination, attracting visitors from all over Storyland.

On Christmas Eve, the cashier sought out Colour Kid, a look of gratitude on her face.

“You have done an outstanding job,” she said, her voice filled with emotion. “You have brought the mall to life for this Christmas season.”

Colour Kid beamed with pride, feeling happy that he could make a difference.

At noon, Colour Kid heard his phone buzz. He had an email stating that he was invited to the Christmas Building for Christmas.

“Why was I chosen?” asked Colour Kid, his curiosity piqued.

He quickly packed a suitcase, and soon found himself sitting in a luxurious limo, heading toward the Christmas Building.

As the limo glided smoothly through the snowy landscape, Colour Kid felt like royalty, the plush seats and soft music enveloping him in comfort. When they arrived at the Christmas Building, Lost Christmas Tree greeted him warmly.

“Welcome,” he said, his branches swaying gently in the breeze. “We hope you enjoy your stay. There will be lots of food, music, and dancing.”

Colour Kid’s eyes widened with wonder as he gazed around at the festive decorations. The Christmas tree towered above him, its lights twinkling like stars in the night sky.

“It sounds like fun,” he said, his voice filled with excitement. “But, why was I chosen?”

Lost Christmas Tree’s branches rustled softly as he smiled. “You were chosen because of all the work you have done to bring color to Storyland,” he explained. “Look what you did at the mall this past week. Do you know the smiles on children’s faces are all because of the work you did?”

Colour Kid’s face glowed with pride as he realized the impact of his actions. He spent the rest of the day enjoying the festivities, feasting on delicious food, and dancing with new friends. As the night drew to a close, Lost Christmas Tree presented him with a beautiful award, its surface glinting with gold and silver.

Colour Kid’s heart swelled with gratitude as he accepted the award, feeling proud of himself for bringing joy and color to the world. As he looked out at the sea of faces, he knew that this was just the beginning of his journey, and that he would continue to spread joy and color wherever he went. And with that, Colour Kid’s Christmas celebration came to a close, but the memories and the sense of pride he felt would stay with him forever.

Moral of this Story:

  • Using your talents to help others can bring joy and recognition.
  • Example: Colour Kid’s decision to use his painting skills to bring Christmas cheer to the mall demonstrates the impact one person’s efforts can have on a community.
