Mother Plays an April Fool’s Day Prank

“Come help me,” said Jackie Jester’s Mother one evening.

“What are you doing?” asked Jackie Jester.

“I am making your dad’s lunch for work tomorrow,” said Mother.

Jackie buttered some bread while Mother spread some mustard. Then Mother did something that surprised Jackie. Instead of putting sandwich meat on the bread, she put a piece of cardboard on it and wrapped it up.

“Why did you do that?” asked Jackie.

“Shhh!” said Mother, whispering and putting her finger to her lips. “Don’t let Daddy hear us. Tomorrow is April Fool’s Day”

“So this is an April Fool’s Day prank we are playing on Daddy,” laughed Jackie.

“Yes,” said Mother.

Jackie found it hilarious. He couldn’t stop laughing.

“Daddy will be so angry,” said Jackie.

“Only for a minute,” said Mother.

Jackie went to bed that night thinking about the prank Mother pulled on Daddy. He couldn’t stop laughing about it.

The next morning, Jackie’s Mother handed him a brown paper bag with his lunch for school.

“Did Daddy take his lunch?” asked Jackie.

Yes he did,” winked Mother.

At lunchtime, Jackie took his sandwich out of his brown paper bag. He took a bite of it and sank his teeth into a piece of cardboard.

“She did it to me too,” thought Jackie to himself, now thinking Mother’s prank wasn’t so funny after all.

Moral of this Story:

  • An April Fool’s Day prank may not be so funny if it is played on you.
  • Example: Mother played an April Fool’s Day prank on Daddy and Jackie Jester laughed about it. She also played it on Jackie. Jackie didn’t think it was so funny after all.
