Travelin’ Rick Visits Florida
Well kids, it’s sure nice to be here with you all again. I hope you all have had an enjoyable summer. I know that I sure did. I visited with a friend of mine, in the state of Florida.
Florida is located in the southeastern region of the United States, bordered by the Gulf of Mexico to the west, Alabama and Georgia to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Straits of Florida to the south. The capital city of Florida is Tallahassee. Florida is known for its warm climate and beautiful beaches.
Most of the population in Florida are English-speaking people, with a significant number of Spanish-speaking residents as well. The state is famous for its citrus fruit farms and tourist attractions.
I visited one such citrus farm just outside of Orlando. The farm was owned by my friend, Pablo, and his family. They own thousands of acres of land and have a large grove of orange trees.
One day, Pablo showed me how to pick oranges. I have done many things in my life, but I had never picked oranges before. Pablo thought that this was a great joke.
Pablo was an excellent farmer. He said that I would be able to pick oranges efficiently within two days. Well, it actually took me three days and many, many scratches from the branches, but I can now pick oranges.
The tree Pablo had picked out for me to learn on was called Sunny. This was a very good name for the vibrant orange tree I was introduced to. Believe me, Sunny just loved to make it difficult for me to reach the oranges whenever it had a chance.
I had great fun at Pablo’s farm, but the best part of all was the huge campfire we had at night. Pablo’s family, there were ten children besides Pablo, would sit around the campfire, sing songs, roast marshmallows, and just enjoy themselves immensely. I had a lot of fun at Pablo’s farm and he invited me to come again, whenever I am in the state of Florida.
That’s it for this adventure. I’ll see you all next time.
