Spring Trick
Trickster wanted the house to himself so he played a trick on his sisters. He told them it was a nice day outside and that they should go to the mall.
“I know what you are up to,” said Frannie, Trickster’s oldest sister.
“I’m not up to anything,” said Trickster.
“Mother told me it is going to storm today,” said Frannie. “She also told me to keep an eye on you. She knows you want to watch that movie about sharks. She doesn’t want you watching it.”
“I promise I won’t,” said Trickster.
“You are lucky because I do have to go to the mall today,” said Frannie. “I will take the rest of our sisters with me. Just remember not to watch that shark movie though. Mother and I know you will be terrified.”
“Fine,” said Trickster. “I won’t.”
Trickster’s sisters left for the mall. Soon, a big dark cloud rolled in. Trickster took a look out the kitchen window. He was starting to get scared. Then, it poured rain and it wasn’t just a little bit of rain, it was a downpour.
“I should have just watched the shark movie,” said Trickster. “It can’t be any scarier than this.”
Trickster put the movie on and he was still watching it when his sisters came home.
“I told you that you would be terrified to watch it,” said Frannie, seeing the look of terror on Trickster’s face.
“This movie is tame compared to that rain storm we just had,” said Trickster.
“I know it rained,” said Frannie. “There is a huge rainbow outside. However, I don’t believe it was as bad as you let on.”
That night, on the local news, Frannie found out Trickster was telling the truth. There really was a bad rain storm while she and her sisters were at the mall.
“Oh Trickster,” said Frannie, hugging him. “You are my brave brother for sitting in that storm all by yourself.”
