Shoe Laces

Unlucky Uncle Ungus was putting his shoes on. He was very excited because there was an exhibit of old trains at the local museum and he wanted to see them.

“I wonder if the engine I worked on for all those years will be there,” said Unlucky Uncle Ungus to himself, grabbing his jacket and heading out the door.

Unlucky Uncle Ungus stepped down onto the stairs as he was heading to his car. He almost tripped on the bottom step.

“Oh dear,” said Unlucky Uncle Ungus, looking down at his shoes and seeing they were untied. “I was sure that I tied them up. Is this Friday the 13th by any chance?”

Unlucky Uncle Ungus looked at his watch at the date and sure enough, it was Friday the 13th.

“I am going to have to be very careful today,” said Unlucky Uncle Ungus. “I have enough bad luck in my life and it always doubles on Friday the 13th.”

Unlucky Uncle Ungus bent down and tied both of his shoes in double knots.

“At least my shoes won’t cause me any more bad luck today,” said Unlucky Uncle Ungus.

Unlucky Uncle Ungus arrived at the museum, only to find out that the train exhibit was postponed for a week.

“Just my luck,” said Unlucky Uncle Ungus.
