Hot August Days

“Wow!” exclaimed Forgetful Fred. “It is really hot out today.”

“I don’t find it all that hot,” said Forgetful Fred’s wife, Sarah, who was out in the garden. “I find it just right.”

“Really!” exclaimed Forgetful Fred. “I am sweating pretty bad right now.”

“Forgetful Fred!” laughed Sarah. “Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that you have on that big bulky sweater.”

Forgetful Fred looked down and sure enough he did have a big bulky sweater on.

“What are you doing with that sweater on?” asked Sarah.

“Well I was going through some of my clothes and I tried it on to see if it still fit,” said Forgetful Fred. “I guess I just forgot to take it off.”

“It obviously still fits you,” said Sarah. “Now go inside and take it off and put some shorts on and a t-shirt. You will be a lot cooler then.”

Forgetful Fred went inside and changed. He did feel so much cooler when he came back outside.

“That is better,” said Forgetful Fred.

“Yes,” said Sarah. “I can imagine that it is. It even makes me cooler looking at you.”
