Runner Rabbit and the Spring Sun
Runner Rabbit looked outside. The sun was hiding behind the clouds. It looked like it was going to rain, yet again.
“Not again!” shouted Runner Rabbit. “I am tired of the rain. I want the sun to come out. It is spring after all.”
“Yes,” said Rita Rabbit, Runner Rabbit’s best friend. “It is spring but we don’t have control over the weather. There is no sense getting upset over it.”
“But there are things I want to do,” said Runner Rabbit. “I may as well just go and hide until the rain stops.”
“I have a better idea,” said Rita. “Wait right here.”
Rita went home and grabbed her basket of craft supplies. She took it to Runner’s house.
“What is this?” asked Runner. “How is this going to help?”
“It is my craft basket,” said Rita. “By working on some crafts, it will help take your mind off the weather.”
Rita handed Runner some coloured popsicle sticks and some glue. She showed him how to glue them together to form a bird house.
“This is fun,” said Runner, actually enjoying himself.
“Look out the window,” pointed Rita.
Runner looked out the window and he saw the sun shining.
“I am going to take my bird house outside and hang it in a tree,” said Runner.
“Me too,” said Rita.
Runner and Rita both enjoyed the warm spring sun while it lasted.
