Beatrice Bee and Forgetful Fred
Forgetful Fred was outside on his back porch. He was barbecuing steaks for him and his wife, Sarah. He saw a bee land on his arm and he screamed.
Sarah was inside the kitchen. She heard Forgetful Fred’s scream and she came running out the back door.
“Forgetful Fred,” said Sarah. “What is wrong? Why did you scream?”
“I don’t know,” said Forgetful Fred. “I don’t remember screaming.”
“Could it have been because of the bee on your arm?” asked Sarah, who just happened to look at Forgetful Fred’s arm.
Forgetful Fred looked down at his arm and when he saw the bee, he screamed again.
“Obviously it was the bee that made you scream,” said Sarah. “I would suggest to stay still. Don’t make any sudden moves. The bee will only sting you if it feels threatened.”
“I promise that I will not sting you,” said the bee. “My name is Beatrice Bee. I am visiting Bed Tyme Tales Storyland. I smelled the steak on the barbecue. It smells really good. I just wanted to say hello.”
“Welcome to Storyland,” said Sarah. “My name is Sarah and this is my husband Forgetful Fred. Would you like to join us for dinner?”
“Sarah,” said Forgetful Fred. “What are you doing? Bees don’t eat regular food.”
“You are right,” said Beatrice. “I don’t eat regular food. However, I would like a drink of water.”
“That we can definitely do,” said Sarah.
Beatrice Bee enjoyed a drink of water with Forgetful Fred and Sarah.
“It was nice meeting you,” said Sarah, when Beatrice Bee announced that she had to be on her way.
“We will be having another barbecue soon,” said Forgetful Fred. “You are welcome to join us.”
“I would love to,” said Beatrice.
“We will have some water ready for you,” said Sarah.
“Thank you,” said Beatrice. “I won’t land on your arm next time, Forgetful Fred.”
“As long as you don’t sting me,” said Forgetful Fred. “It really doesn’t bother me where you land.”
“Goodbye,” waved Beatrice, with her wings.
The next time Beatrice smelled a barbecue she knew it was at Forgetful Fred and Sarah’s house so she flew over have dinner with them. They enjoyed her company very much.
