A Summer Party Surprise

“It is such a lovely summer day,” said Pesky Mosquito, her tiny wings fluttering with excitement. “We aren’t going to get too many more like this. I am going to do something nice for all the Storyland characters. I think I should hold a party.”

Pesky worked very hard over the next few days, sending out invitations to everyone in Storyland. She flew from house to house, delivering colorful invitations with a big smile on her face. After they were sent out, she purchased a large amount of food and set up a few picnic tables at the park. The day of the party came, and Pesky sat on top of one of the picnic tables, waiting patiently for the delivery truck to arrive with the food and for her guests to show up.

As she waited, the sun shone brightly overhead, casting a warm glow over the park. The flowers bloomed vibrantly, and the birds sang sweet melodies. But as the minutes ticked by, Pesky began to worry. Where was the delivery truck? And where were her guests? She decided to call and find out what the hold-up was.

“Hi, this is Pesky Mosquito,” said Pesky when a customer service agent answered the phone. “I ordered several large platters that were supposed to be delivered to the park, but the delivery truck has not shown up yet.”

The customer service agent told Pesky that she would call her back once she had more information because she couldn’t find Pesky’s order in the system.

“That is very strange,” said Pesky, hanging up her phone.

Just then, she heard a commotion at the other end of the park. When she approached, she couldn’t see anyone around.

“I really am losing my mind,” said Pesky, scratching her head.

Suddenly, a loud shout went up.

“Surprise!!!” screamed the Storyland characters, jumping out from behind the trees.

Pesky’s eyes widened in shock.

“What is going on?” she asked, her voice trembling.

“We wanted to give you a surprise party,” said Me, owner and creator of Storyland, with a big smile on her face.

“Oh,” said Pesky, now more confused than ever. “I had ordered food and wanted to host a party for everyone here in Storyland.”

“We are doing this because you have shown us that you are very trusting, and a lot of us were giving you a hard time saying things like, ‘All mosquitoes sting, but you told us you would not sting us, and you haven’t,'” explained Me.

“What about all the food I ordered?” said Pesky, her brow furrowed.

“I cancelled your order,” said Me. “I then had the order delivered in my name.”

Me pointed to a large amount of food sitting on one of the picnic tables. Pesky’s eyes widened in surprise.

“Oh,” she said, finally understanding what was going on. “Thank you, and I am very grateful to all my new friends.”

“We need more mosquitoes in this world like you,” said Me, with a warm smile.

As the party went on, Pesky was overwhelmed with gratitude. She had never felt so accepted and loved in her life. The Storyland characters cheered and clapped for her, and she blushed with happiness. From that day on, Pesky knew that she had found her true home in Storyland, surrounded by friends who appreciated her for who she was.
