A Surprise Visitor
Silly Snake wiped the sweat from his forehead, feeling the scorching summer sun beating down on him.
“This heat is unbearable,” he thought to himself. “I wonder how Mother is handling it. She’s getting older, and I hope she’s taking care of herself.”
Silly Snake tried calling his mother, but she didn’t answer.
“That’s strange,” he thought. “I think I’ll go check on her.”
As he packed his backpack with water bottles and cereal bars, a cab pulled up in his driveway.
“Mother!” Silly Snake exclaimed, relieved to see her stepping out of the car.
“Son!” she cried, smiling warmly. “I hope you don’t mind my surprise visit.”
Silly Snake welcomed his mother with open arms, happy to see her safe and sound.
“Come inside, it’s cooler in here,” he said, leading her into his air-conditioned den. “I was worried about you in this heat!”
His mother smiled, grateful for her son’s concern.
“The landlord is doing renovations, so I thought I’d surprise you,” she explained. “But I’m glad to be here, it’s sweltering outside.”
Silly Snake handed his mother a cold bottle of water, and she drank gratefully.
“At least it’s nice and cool here,” she said, sighing in relief.
“Yes, my air conditioner is a lifesaver,” Silly Snake agreed. “I’m glad you have one too, Mother.”
As they chatted, Silly Snake led his mother to the backyard, where a small pool sparkled invitingly.
“A pool!” his mother exclaimed, her eyes lighting up. “This is perfect, it’s so refreshing!”
Together, they waded into the cool water, enjoying the respite from the heat. Silly Snake laughed as his mother splashing him playfully, feeling grateful for this special moment together.
As they lounged in the pool, Silly Snake asked, “How long can you stay, Mother?”
“I can stay until this heatwave passes,” she replied, smiling. “I don’t want to leave this cool oasis just yet!”
Silly Snake grinned, happy to have his mother with him for a while longer. As they basked in the cool water, he realized that sometimes the best things in life are the simple moments shared with loved ones.
As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the backyard, Silly Snake and his mother reluctantly climbed out of the pool. They settled into comfortable chairs, watching the stars twinkle to life in the night sky.
“Thank you for this wonderful day, son,” Silly Snake’s mother said, her voice filled with gratitude.
Silly Snake smiled, feeling happy and content. “Anytime, Mother. I’m just glad we could spend this time together.”
And with that, they sat in comfortable silence, enjoying each other’s company as the night wore on.
