Christmas Building 2024 – Apartment 13 – Dollie the Doctor

The snowflakes fell gently outside the clinic, casting a magical spell over the quiet town. Inside, Dollie the Doctor and her receptionist, Greta, were busy preparing for the holiday season.

“It is almost Christmas,” said Dollie, a twinkle in her eye.

“I haven’t done any Christmas shopping or baking yet,” Greta smiled wistfully. “This year I won’t have the kids at home. They are staying with their dad this Christmas.”

Dollie’s expression softened with sympathy.

“I really need to get some last-minute Christmas shopping done,” she said. “I am going to actually take my lunch break today and step out quickly to do some.”

Dollie took her lunch break and ventured out into the snowy streets, her breath misting in the cold air. She wandered through the bustling shops, her eyes scanning the shelves for the perfect gift. Finally, she found a beautiful present for Greta, and a few decorations to brighten up the clinic.

When she returned, she let Greta go for lunch early and gave her an extra hour. While Greta was out, Dollie transformed the clinic into a Christmas wonderland. She decorated the office and the reception area with garlands of greenery and sparkling ornaments. She set the gift on Greta’s desk, and put on some festive Christmas music. The clinic was filled with the sweet scent of pine and the sound of joyful carols.

Greta was shocked when she returned to the clinic that afternoon. Her eyes widened in surprise as she took in the transformation that Dollie did.

“Oh, Dollie!” she exclaimed, her voice trembling with emotion. “This is beautiful! And the gift…it’s too much!”

Dollie smiled, her eyes shining with kindness.

“You deserve it, Greta,” she said. “You’ve been an amazing receptionist, and I’m so grateful to have you by my side.”

Later that afternoon, Dollie received an email that made her heart skip a beat. It was from the Christmas Building, and they were inviting her to spend Christmas with them.

“There is no way this is real,” said Dollie, her eyes scanning the email in wonder. Greta’s face lit up with a smile.

“It’s a very prestigious honor to get invited,” Greta said. “And there is nobody that deserves this more than you.”

A few minutes later, a sleek black limo pulled up in front of the clinic, its engine purring softly. Dollie’s eyes widened in amazement as the driver stepped out and opened the door for her.

“Welcome, Dollie,” he said, his voice low and smooth. “We’re honored to have you join us at the Christmas Building.”

As Dollie stepped into the limo, she felt like royalty, the plush seats and soft music enveloping her in luxury. She was whisked away to the Christmas Building, a magical place filled with wonder and joy. When she arrived, Lost Christmas Tree greeted her warmly.

“Welcome, Dollie,” he said, his branches swaying gently in the breeze. “We hope you enjoy your stay. We have lots of food, music, and dancing.”

Dollie’s eyes sparkled with wonder as she took in the magical surroundings.

“I don’t know why I was chosen,” she said, her voice filled with humility.

Lost Christmas Tree’s branches rustled softly as he smiled.

“Oh, but you have done so much to deserve this honor,” he said. “You have been kind and compassionate to every patient who has come through your door. And today, you went out of your way to make Greta’s day special. That’s the true spirit of Christmas.”

Dollie’s heart swelled with emotion as she realized the impact of her actions. She felt grateful and humbled to be recognized in such a way and even more so when she was given an award. As she spent the rest of the day at the Christmas Building, surrounded by new friends and filled with joy and wonder, Dollie knew that this was a Christmas she would never forget. And as she looked out at the magical landscape, she vowed to continue spreading kindness and joy to all those around her.
