Beatrice Bee and the Night Forest

SRS007

Beatrice Bee was tired. She had been flying all day through Storyland Canada. Now the sun was going down, and it was time to rest.

She found a quiet meadow. The grass was soft. A few flowers nodded in the breeze.

“This is a good place to sleep,” said Beatrice.

She landed on a dandelion. It was fluffy and warm. The stars were coming out, one by one. Beatrice closed her eyes.

Then she heard something.

“Help,” called a small voice. “Please help me.”

Beatrice opened her eyes. She knew that voice. It was Luna the Moth.

“I’m lost,” Luna called. “I can’t find my way home.”

The voice came from the dark forest. Beatrice looked at the trees. They were tall and dark. The forest looked scary at night.

Beatrice felt afraid.

But Luna needed help. Luna was her friend.

“I’m coming!” Beatrice called. “Don’t worry, Luna. I’m coming.”

Beatrice flew up from the dandelion. Her wings felt shaky. Her heart beat fast. But she flew toward the forest anyway.

At the edge of the trees, she stopped. It was so dark in there. So quiet.

“I’m scared,” Beatrice whispered. “But Luna is scared too. And Luna needs me.”

She took a deep breath. Then she flew into the forest.

The trees were tall around her. Everything looked different at night. But Beatrice kept flying. She kept calling Luna’s name.

“Luna? Where are you?”

“I’m here!” Luna called back. “Keep coming!”

As Beatrice flew deeper into the forest, something happened. Her eyes got used to the dark. And she saw that the forest wasn’t so scary after all.

The moon shone through the leaves. It made pretty patterns of light. Fireflies danced between the trees like tiny stars. An owl hooted softly—a gentle sound.

“The forest is beautiful,” Beatrice whispered.

She flew and flew. Luna’s voice got closer.

“Luna?” Beatrice called.

“Here! I’m here!”

Beatrice flew into a small clearing. Moonlight filled the space with soft, silver light. And there, on a low branch, was Luna.

“Beatrice!” said Luna. “You came! I was so scared.”

“I was scared too,” said Beatrice. “But I came anyway.”

She landed next to her friend. Luna’s wings were shaking.

“It’s okay now,” said Beatrice. “I’m here. We’ll rest together.”

“But how will I get home?” asked Luna.

“In the morning,” said Beatrice. “When the sun comes up, we’ll find your way home. But now, we rest.”

The clearing was peaceful. The moonlight was warm. The two friends sat close together on the branch.

“Thank you for coming,” Luna said softly. “You were very brave.”

“Being brave doesn’t mean you’re not scared,” said Beatrice. “It means you do good things even when you are scared.”

Luna nodded. She felt safe now. Beatrice was here.

Above them, the stars twinkled. The forest was quiet and calm. The night wrapped around them like a soft blanket.

“Goodnight, Beatrice,” whispered Luna.

“Goodnight, Luna,” whispered Beatrice.

The two friends closed their eyes. They were safe. They were together. And they were not afraid anymore.

The moon watched over them. The stars shone bright. And in the peaceful forest clearing, Beatrice Bee and Luna the Moth drifted off to sleep.

Tomorrow would bring new adventures. But tonight, there was only rest, and friendship, and peace.

Sweet dreams.
