Love and Happiness
On a bitterly cold winter day, Crystal Frost stood at the kitchen window, gazing out at the snow-covered landscape. Her cheeks were flushed a deep pink, and she couldn’t figure out why. She wasn’t standing near the stove, and the kitchen wasn’t particularly warm. She turned to her Great Aunt Matty, who was busy making a pot of hot chocolate.
“I can tell you why,” said Aunt Matty, a knowing glint in her eye.
“Please do,” said Crystal, her curiosity piqued. Aunt Matty smiled, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
“You are in love,” she said, her voice filled with conviction. Crystal’s eyes widened in surprise.
“In love?” she asked, feeling a flutter in her chest.
“Wouldn’t I be the first person to figure that out?” she asked, laughing.
Aunt Matty chuckled, her eyes sparkling with wisdom.
“Not necessarily,” she said. “Sometimes, we’re the last to know what’s right in front of us.”
Just then, the doorbell rang, and Crystal’s heart skipped a beat. She knew exactly who it was. Gerard, her new boyfriend and the new goalie for the Storyland Tales hockey team. He stood shivering but with a warm smile on his face.
As soon as Crystal saw him, her cheeks turned an even brighter red. She felt like she was glowing with happiness.
“Could she be right?” Crystal asked herself, her mind racing with possibilities. “Am I in love with Gerard?”
She couldn’t deny the way she felt whenever Gerard was around. She felt like she was walking on air, her heart filled with joy and happiness.
“Who is right about what?” Gerard asked, walking into the kitchen and giving Crystal a warm hug.
Aunt Matty smiled, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
“Crystal is in love,” she stated, her voice filled with conviction.
Crystal’s face turned bright red as she scolded her aunt.
“Aunt Matty!” she said, laughing.
Gerard’s eyes locked onto Crystal’s, his face filled with curiosity.
“Is that true?” he asked, his voice filled with hope.
Crystal’s heart skipped a beat as she looked into Gerard’s eyes. She didn’t want to lie to him, and she couldn’t deny the way she felt.
“Yes,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “It is true. I am in love with you.”
Gerard’s face lit up with joy, and he pulled Crystal into a warm hug.
“Just know,” he said, his voice filled with emotion, “I feel the exact same. Crystal Frost, I love you.”
Gerard gave Crystal a tender kiss, and Crystal’s heart soared with happiness. Her cheeks were burning with joy, and she felt like she was melting into Gerard’s arms.
Aunt Matty smiled, her eyes shining with happiness.
“I told you so,” she said, laughing.
As Crystal and Gerard hugged, Aunt Matty slipped away, leaving the two alone. She smiled to herself, knowing that she had played a small part in bringing the two together. And as she watched from the window, she saw Crystal and Gerard walking hand in hand into the snowy landscape, their love shining brightly for all to see.
