A Family Moment

It was a very hot summer day and Breezy Sloth and Luna Hummingbird were relaxing, enjoying the heat.

“Oh Luna,” said Breezy, his voice filled with wonder, as he gazed at his friend, Luna. “How come there are so many hummingbirds in Storyland, but only one sloth – me?”

Luna’s iridescent feathers glimmered in the sunlight as she fluttered beside Breezy. “I’ve seen a couple of sloths at the Storyland Zoo,” she replied.

“The zoo?” Breezy’s eyes widened with curiosity. “What’s that?”

Luna explained, “It’s a place that takes care of animals, some of which are sick or injured.”

Breezy’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Have you been to the zoo?”

Luna shook her head. “No, but I’d love to go with you!”

Breezy’s face lit up. “Really? You’d do that for me?”

Luna nodded. “Of course, friend! We’re in this together.”

As they walked towards the zoo, Breezy shared a sad tale. “My mother, father, and I were captured in our home country. We were in the back of an old truck, and when we got to Storyland, we were dropped off at a farm. My father told me to hide in the forest, and I never saw them again.”

Luna’s heart went out to her friend. “Oh dear, that’s a very sad situation.”

Breezy’s determination shone through. “I’ve looked everywhere for them. Let’s go see if we can find them!”

At the zoo, they were stopped by a guard who refused entry without tickets. But Luna’s quick thinking and sharp eyesight spotted an enclosure for sloths and a hole in the fence.

“I know how we can get inside,” she whispered conspiratorially. “But, we’ll have to wait patiently.”

As dusk fell, Luna led Breezy through the hole in the fence, and they slipped into the zoo undetected. Inside the enclosure, Breezy’s heart raced as he heard his mother’s voice.

“Is that you, Breezy?” he asked, tears streaming from his eyes.

Mother’s voice trembled. “It is. I’m here!”

His father exclaimed, “My son! He’s alive!”

With Luna’s help, Breezy and his parents escaped the zoo through the hole in the fence. After their daring escape, they lived happily together in the forest, free and safe at last.
