Jane Hanna Stories
Jane Hanna is 39 and works as a custodian at Garfield Elementary. She keeps her long brown hair in a messy bun, wears glasses, and moves through the halls in a black shirt and pants uniform. Years ago, before it was locked up and forgotten, she visited the school’s rooftop garden and found it beautiful. Tomatoes and herbs grew there, sunflowers leaned toward the light, and every evening the insects came. Jane wants to open that rooftop again and coax the garden back, so the insects have somewhere to gather at dusk.
