Angry Cat’s Smile for Mother on Mother’s Day

“Today is Mother’s Day,” announced Angry Cat’s sister, Harriet. “Look at the beautiful flowers I picked for her. What are you going to do for Mother?”

“I don’t know,” said Angry Cat, angrily. “I haven’t had time to even think about it since I just found out it is Mother’s Day. I don’t know what to do for Mother. I don’t have any money. Do you have any ideas? Please, Harriet, I need your help.”

“I do have one idea,” said Harriet. “It won’t cost you anything either.”

“What is it?” asked Angry Cat, perking up his ears in interest. What is your idea?”

“A smile,” said Harriet.

“Are you serious?” asked Angry Cat, who was even angrier than before. “What good will a smile do?”

“I am serious,” said Harriet. “Mother doesn’t get to see you smile very often.”

Mother came home from work. Harriet handed her the bouquet of flowers.

“Happy Mother’s Day,” said Harriet.

“Thank you,” said Mother.

Angry Cat stood in front of Mother and he smiled the biggest smile ever.

“Thank you so much,” said Mother, giving both of her children a big hug. “This is the best Mother’s Day ever.”
