Beatrice Bee Meets Baby Face Monster

Beatrice Bee was flying around Northern Ontario on a warm summer evening. She saw a light in the distance and decided to investigate it.

“A cave!” exclaimed Beatrice to herself. “Now that is interesting. I have to check it out.”

Beatrice was very excited about finding a cave. She was also excited to find out who lived in the cave.

“Someone is there,” said Beatrice. “There would not be a light on in a cave for no reason.”

Beatrice flew into the cave. She saw a small laboratory setup. Beatrice landed on one of the beakers that were sitting on a counter.

“What are you doing here in my lab?” yelled Ellie, the researcher, who had just walked into the lab and saw Beatrice. “You have ruined my experiment.”

“I am so sorry,” said Beatrice, feeling really bad. “I was so excited to see a cave that I didn’t pay attention to where I landed. I am Beatrice Bee. Is there anything I can do to help?”

“Actually,” said Ellie, after looking everything over. “I overreacted. It looks like everything is okay. My name is Ellie. I am a researcher. I am researching Baby Face Monster. This is actually his cave.”

“Oh,” said Beatrice. “Is he going to mind me being here?”

“No,” said Ellie. “Baby Face is actually a very gentle monster.”

“Who is gentle? “Beatrice heard a voice from behind her.

“You are,” said Ellie. “Baby Face, I want you to meet Beatrice Bee. She came to visit us.”

“Nice to meet you,” said Baby Face.

“You as well,” said Beatrice.

“You wouldn’t sting us?” asked Ellie. “Would you? I don’t know what Baby Face is allergic to.”

“No,” said Beatrice. “I would never sting a friend.”

“Good,” said Ellie. “Baby Face, that will be part of our next research assignment. We need to find out if you are allergic to anything.”

“Yes,” said Baby Face. “That would be good to know.”

“This looks like a very interesting research project,” said Beatrice, intrigued.

“It is,” said Ellie. “We actually made a breakthrough earlier this summer. Baby Face may be a creature of the sea.”

“Now that is interesting,” said Beatrice.

Beatrice loved her visit with Ellie and Baby Face. She was so fascinated by science.

“Next time you visit,” said Ellie. “Maybe I could do some research on you.”

“That would be fun,” said Beatrice. “I could bring you and Baby Face some honey.”

“We would love that,” said Baby Face.

“Yes we would,” said Ellie.
