Tomato Juice

Mrs. Tomato was walking from the garden to the barn. She was in a hurry because she was going to be late for practise. She didn’t see a rock in front of her. She tripped on it. Mrs. Tomato stood up. She didn’t have time to brush herself off.

“Oh my!” exclaimed Christopher Corn, when he saw Mrs. Tomato’s knee.” What happened to your knee?”

Mrs. Tomato looked down and she saw that her knee was bleeding. All of a sudden she felt pain. She started to cry. Olive Onion saw Mrs. Tomato’s knee. She went to get the first aid kit.

“What happened here?” asked Farmer Fred, coming into the barn.

“I fell on my way to the barn,” said Mrs. Tomato.

“It looks like tomato juice,” laughed Farmer Fred, looking at Mrs. Tomato’s bloody knee and trying to make light of the situation.

“Oh wait!” laughed Christopher. “It is tomato juice.”

“Yes it is,” said Mrs. Tomato, who couldn’t help but smile.

“There’s your smile,” said Farmer Fred. “It is good to see it.”

Yes,” agreed Christophe. “It certainly is!”

“Here,” said Christopher, pulling a chair over to Mrs. Tomato so she could sit down. “Sit here and we will get this knee fixed up for you.”

Mrs. Tomato sat down while Olive cleaned the wound with peroxide. Christopher applied a bandage to it.

“Thank you,” said Mrs. Tomato. “I feel much better now.”
